Demolition day 2 started out cold but at least unlike day 1 no rain is in the forecast.
The demolition crew used the smaller excavator to clear up some stuff on day 1. For day 2, they brought the big gun.
They basically use this big excavator’s bucket to knock part of the house down and the then stuff it down into what used to be the basement.
In less than an hour, what was left of the house from day 1 disappeared. The crew started around 9am, by 10am, there’s nothing left standing.
Then the crew put this claw on the excavator arm. And for the rest of the day they just kept on loading the bin with what was stuff into the basement earlier all the while metals are being separated from the rest. Over the whole day, the crew took away 3 truck loads.
Here’s the end of the demolition day 2. Most of the structure is hauled away. There’s still bricks and the foundation walls to be taken out. But the house is there no more.
And here’s a time-lapse sequence for demolition day 2.
