Roofing day 2. Today the main roof on top of the second floor and the roof on the third floor is being worked on.
The entire parapet wall is covered with a layer of roofing membrane.
Here’s the view towards my glass lookout.
Skylight curbs are also wrapped with roofing membrane.
On the west side wall, the roofing membrane goes as high as the parapet wall. For the south and east side, they go up to the bottom of the windows.
The roof on top of the third floor also had it’s base layer torched up. The drip flashing is also installed.
The drip flashing on the low side is the normal while on all other 3 side, there’s a 1/2″ rise. This is so that the water on the roof will flow downwards towards the east end where an eavestrough will collect the water and carry it down to the main roof.
Tomorrow they will work on putting more layers of Torchflex on my main roof. I asked for 4 layers on my main roof. So there will be 3 layers of Torchflex base, and one layer of Armourplast Granular cap sheet. The layers will be stacked perpendicular to each other. So today’s first layer went north-south, second layer will go east-west, 3rd layer north-south again, and finally the cap sheet will run east-west.
