The roofers are here to try to finish up the work. This is one complicated job. Already day 7 for the roofing, with yet more work to come later.
The front shade is completed. Looked pretty good. I will need to buy a few can of spray paint to paint the drain black later. I will have to do the same to the scuppers.
This is the side of the front shade with the missing patches all fixed up. You can see a even layer of cap sheet all around. So what’s missing here is the drip edge, capping, and metal facade.
Here’s the three smaller fixed skylight all installed. You can see the slope the 2″ drop created here. This is to create a bit positive water flow towards east and therefore towards the interior roof drain.
Here’s the two larger skylight. You can see they have the same slope created by a 2″ drop on the south side. This way the water flows down towards south and towards the roof drains. You can see the two roof drain with their black plastic dome cover. The metallic object one in the middle is the vent flashing for the sanitary stack vent.
The rest of the roof all completed.
And this is the view that drove me to want to put 20′ of glass guardrail right at the corner. From the roof top, with all these trees, I won’t see any houses or high rises from my roof top, I will just see trees. Now imagine a pair of outdoor lounge chairs here. How relaxing… And all right in the middle of the city.
