Today marks day 6 of the EIFS installation. No work was done on the house in the last two days due to the rain. The crew from Discover Stucco Plus is here today to rasp and shave the panels installed so that the walls are flush and corners all line up properly.
This is what the south-east corner looks like after the walls are rasped.
The grooves between the panels are now hardly visible after foam boards are rasped and all the uneven spots between panels are now removed.
This is the north-east corner.
The Roxul panels cannot be rasped like the foam board. So uneven spots are shaved off.
Horizontal control joint is created between the first and the second floor on the south side.
The same control joint is created on the north side.
The second floor wall in the front of the house.
Today is probably the worst day in terms of EIFS installation. The rasping of the foam boards cause these small foam piece to go just about everywhere.
After it is done, it looked almost like it just snowed. As much as I like the EIFS finishes, I really wish there’s a better way that wouldn’t produces all these foam particles.
