Crews from Powerline Plus contracted under Toronto Hydro is here this morning to hook up the electrical utility connection.
Here they are connecting the line to the private side at the weather head.
The they use the lift to connect the line to the hydro utility line.
Here’s the crew working on making the connection to the utility line.
Here’s the connection just about completed.
The meter is not installed yet. So just straight connection in the meter base.
Here’s a photo of the electrical line at the weather head. There’s a problem with the clevis. It wasn’t secured properly on the EIFS. There’s no re-enforcement under the clevis. It’s just laying on top of the EIFS. The EIFS is made up with 2″ of Roxul RockBoard. So it’s soft. And when the clevis is pulled by the utility line, it just sinks right into the EIFS. I will have to get the electrician to fix this so that whatever below clevis is properly secured.
The next day, I talked to the Toronto Hydro meter inspector on the clearance issue. I provided Toronto Hydro a letter from the neighbour granting the access to the drive way for meter access. Now the meter is installed.
Update 2014-09-08. Abdul came today to fix the clevis. A metal pipe is insert into the hole through the Roxul RockBoard that make up the EIFS. Then washer is put on and nut tightens the bolt against the plywood and the inside wood blocking. The the clevis is reinstalled and bolted to the bolt. Now the clevis has no lateral movement any more.
