Building science taught us that air sealing of the house is more important than raw insulation value. While the spray foam seals the space from stud to stud, there’s still the gap between the studs that needs to be sealed. Here’s an example in the bathroom there the gap between the studs are now sealed with caulking. Also the gap between the bottom plate and the sub-floor is also sealed with caulking.
Here’s around my window area. There are some gaps that a big and so I sealed it with expansion foam. Gap that are small enough are all sealed with caulking.
The caulking is applied to any crack or gap where there can be air penetration.
And on top of the top plate, expansion foams are use to fill the entire gap to make sure there’s no large crack anywhere that will allow air to freely circulate.
