 August 1st, 2014Tom and Kevin from Resco Roofing is here today to finish the metal sidings and some other left over sheet metal works. For the metal siding, a Z flashing / drip edge is installed right on top of the EIFS overhang. Then the metal siding goes on top of it.
July 31st, 2014The work on the metal siding continues today. On top of the sheet metal work, I’ve also asked the roofer to lower the roof drain properly to the plywood level so that the roof drain doesn’t protrude above the roof line. Here is all the metal siding installed on the inside of the parapet wall on the south and west side. Most of the capping on the south side is done.
July 31st, 2014Today the contractor from OJCR Construction Ltd came to fill whatever remain from the trenches they dug up yesterday with asphalt.
July 31st, 2014While the city contractor is working on the new water / sewer connection, Tom Resco of Resco Roofing is here to install my metal sidings. These corrugated steel panels will be installed on both the inside and outside of the parapet wall. Here’s some installed on the inside of the parapet wall.
July 30th, 2014My new water and sewer connection is being installed today by city contractor OJCR Construction Ltd. And since this being city contract work, everything is extravagant. Here for the first time, my construction project not only shutdown down half of the street for most of the day, it also closed the pedestrian sidewalk. Look at his, the yield sign, the construction sign, the pylons, all are here just for me.
July 29th, 2014Finally my new water and sewer connection is schedule with the city. Today the contractor from OJCR came on site to take a look. The work will be carried out over the next two days. Today they get out the concrete cutter and cute out the concrete and asphalt that they will have to dig out later. This is a brand new water and sewer connection so they will have to cut all the way into the road where the main sewer is.
July 24th, 2014It has been over 2.5 month since I have applied for new water and sewer connection from the City. They’ve taken the money yet I’m faced with delay after delay. So I decided to call in my plumber at AV Mechanical to lay the water service line on my private side so that I can pour the concrete floor in my basement. Last week on July 18th, the last locate for the water / sewer service is performed and they marked up the natural gas service line. Now the city contractor should have all the locate they need and I am waiting for them to schedule a call to confirm schedule when they are going to come and do the new water / sewer connection.
June 20th, 2014Day 11 of EIFS installation. Today the top coat is being applied. We are doing marble coat 1.0 finish in Winter White. Here’s the finished product after the top coat is finished.
June 18th, 2014Day 10 of EIFS installation. Thunderstorm has passed and rain has ceased. The crew came in the morning and removed the tarp.
June 17th, 2014Day 9 of EIFS installation. Today the weather forecast calls for thunderstorm in the afternoon. The crew did finish base coating the entire house. They also added a second layer of mesh on all the surfaces where it is accessible by foot traffic. I wanted to have a second layer of mesh installed to increase the impact resistance of the surface. Here below you can see multiple layers of mesh besides the 3rd floor windows.
